The 6 Towns Radio Community Awards RETURN

We are delighted to announce that 6 Towns Radio Community Awards are making their return in 2025! Set to take place on Sunday 11th May at the Mitchell Arts Centre, this event promises to once again shine a spotlight on the outstanding individuals, groups, and organisations that contribute to the vibrancy and success of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The 6 Towns Radio Community Awards were first established as a way to recognise and honour the remarkable work being done across Stoke-on-Trent’s six towns, with Newcastle-under-Lyme being added following our license change and move to DAB.

The event acknowledges the tireless efforts of volunteers, community leaders, local businesses, charities, and those who go above and beyond to make a difference in the area, and of course, we award the coveted ‘Oatcake Shop of the Year’ which was last won by Six Towns Oatcakes in Hanley.

The 2025 awards ceremony will feature a variety of categories to reflect the wide range of contributions made by people across Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme with some of the awards being given out in the following categories:

• Oatcake Shop of the Year
• Pub of the Year
• Takeaway of the Year
• Restaurant of the Year
• Community Group of the Year
• Local Music Act of the Year (Original)
• Local Music Act of the Year (Tribute / Covers)
• Heart of Gold Award
• Heritage Award
• Honorary Stokie
• Rising Star
• 6 Towns Radio Hall of Fame

The night will feature music, entertainment, and, of course, the unveiling of the. winners in each category. The awards ceremony promises to be an inspiring evening that highlights the power of community spirit, dedication, and hard work that make our region such a special place to live and work.

Nominations NOW Open

Nominations for the 2025 awards are already open, and 6 Towns Radio is calling on the community to submit their suggestions for deserving nominees in each category.

If you know someone who deserves recognition for their dedication now is the time to nominate them. Nominations can be made through the 6 Towns Radio website and via our social media channels, where you can submit your nomination with a brief description why. The deadline for nominations is March 7th 2025, with the shortlist revealed and final voting opening on March 14th 2025 so be sure to get your entries in on time!

The 6 Towns Radio Community Awards is a fantastic opportunity to honour the local heroes of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. Whether you're a nominee, a supporter, or simply someone who wants to join in the celebration, the awards evening on Sunday 11th May 2025 will be an event not to be missed.
