Newcastle-under-Lyme is preparing for the highly anticipated return of Lymelight Festival, Castle’s free celebration of local music talent! Mark your calendars for the Bank Holiday weekend of Friday 23rd - Sunday 25th May.
Organised by Newcastle-under-Lyme BID with support from PH Productions and programming from local music venue The Underground, the event also aims to bring additional footfall into the town centre, as well as supporting the local businesses whilst placing the wealth of local music on the map.
Lymelight Festival will once again transform the town into a hub of musical creativity, featuring two outdoor stages on Saturday and Sunday, located by The Guildhall and on the Ironmarket where over 30 local music acts will perform, with local venues also hosting live music throughout the weekend.
The free annual event has become a key highlight on Castle’s calendar, showcasing incredible local talent. From up-and-coming bands to solo artists and local favourites, since its inception in 2013, over 650 local acts have performed at the festival, which is crucial for providing a platform for emerging artists from Staffordshire.
And it’s not just about the music - Castle Artisan Market will also be on hand on both Saturday and Sunday, offering a range of artisan makers, bakers and creators along with delicious street food stalls.
Charlie Machin, Projects and Marketing Executive for Newcastle BID shared: “Lymelight Festival is a much-loved part of 'Castle’s calendar. Not only does it provide a fantastic platform for the local music scene, it also brings people of all ages together to support our vibrant music scene and brings the town’s streets alive. We’re incredibly proud to be a part of something that has such a positive impact.”
