Five arrests on suspicion of firearm and drug supply offences following warrants

Five people have been arrested on suspicion of firearm and drug offences after we searched three houses in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme this morning (Thursday 14 November).

Officers carried out the warrants at addresses off Sandon Road in Meir at 7.30am, along with further addresses in Fenton and Keele, Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Staffordshire Police found a black box with suspected class A drugs inside, clear wraps of suspected class A drugs, burner phones and digital scales in the searches.

A 19-year-old woman, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

A 17-year-old girl, from Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of conspiring to possess a firearm.

A 17-year-old boy, a 15-year-old boy and a 41-year-old man, all from Stoke-on-Trent, have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

They will be questioned in custody.

Staffordshire Police say they are "continuing to target those engaged in serious and organised crime across Staffordshire as part of our Operation Target commitment."

Since it was launched in May last year, they have arrested more than 1,000 people suspected of drug and firearm offences, alongside ongoing enforcement against the groups responsible for high-harm crimes in our communities.
