Review | Pretty Woman at the Regent Theatre

What …No !? Big mistake! Big ! HUGE !

Grab one of the last remaining tickets for an evening of superb acting , singing and dancing to tunes written by The Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance .

Pretty Woman will hopefully need no introduction. But for those who slept through the 90’s-

it is the ‘rags to riches’ tale of Vivian , a charmingly infectious, naive working girl in upmarket Beverley Hills looking for love and an escape from the life she currently leads. A voyage of discovery for her self worth ,if you will.

Enter Edward, who needs someone to accompany him to important, high class social engagements with various business associates.

What starts off as a business arrangement, turns, over the space of 6 days, into what could be love.

The natural connection  between the leading couple played by Rebekah Bryant (Vivian) and Oliver Savile (Edward) is sizzling and sexy.  They ooze genuine chemistry ( there are a couple of scenes that may make your granny blush! )

Ore Oduba plays Happy Man / Mr Thompson with such a joy that you just want him to be your new best friend !

A special shout out to Natalie Paris, who plays Vivian’s best friend , Kit - a better singing voice I’ve never heard in the theatre.

I heard my very first Opera from Verdi's La Traviata sung beautifully by Annell ODartey.

A wondrous voice that made me want to go to a full opera immediately.

An absolute heartwarming musical which leaves you feeling joyful and satisfied that good things can happen to people, if you Want the Fairytale enough.

Pretty Woman is at The Regent Theatre until Saturday 20th July 2024 and tickets can be purchased by heading to atgtickets.com
